Rachel began teaching at Sherwood Dance academy when she was 19 years old and found her way back after having her beautiful three boys ages 6, 4 and 1. Outside of dancing Rachel enjoys being with her family. Together they love playing in the outdoors, watching movies and just being goofy!

Get to know Rachel better:
When did you start dancing and why did you keep dancing? I've been dancing from the moment I could stand on my own two feet! My Mom put me in some ballet classes in my earlier years, I joined dance team in high school, and from there I couldn't be stopped. It makes me happy moving to music.
Why did you want to become a dance instructor? I absolutely love seeing people enjoy dance, if they love it... I know I'm doing a good job! You need to love what you do to get positive results and I do love teaching dance!
Do you still dance or take dance lessons even though you are an instructor? I think a good instructor is constantly learning... My three boys under six keep me very busy at home, and even though it has been longer than I'd like to admit, I do sneak a dance class in here and there.
What is your favorite style of dance and why? I love all types of dance, but contemporary is my favorite style to watch! I just love the passion that goes along with the story and movement.
What is the hardest part about dance to you and why? The hardest part of dance to me, is getting older! It used to come so naturally to me now I find things need to be stretched and strengthened more often to be able to do what my mind wants my body to do.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of the studio or besides teaching dance? Being with my babies and animals.
What is your favorite dance quote and why? "Dance like nobody is watching."
