Rose Scholarship Fund

Jeneva Watson Rose
(April 10, 1974 – March 10, 2016)

Jeneva Rose passed away after a long and valiant battle with brain cancer, first diagnosed in 2003. Her brilliant smile and love of dance were trademarks that will be well remembered by all those whose lives she touched. Her love of dance was only second to her love for her girls.

From an early age, she was involved in all types of dance, eventually leading the Sprague High School dance team in statewide competitions and finishing her dance career as a member of the University of Oregon’s dance team. Jeneva went on to coach Dance Team at Sprague High School and Sherwood High School. She continued to dance herself at Sherwood Dance Academy for fun as long as she could.

Dance was one of her loves she shared with her family. She even got engaged on the floor of a country western dance hall where she and her husband, Jim, spent countless hours boot-scootin. Following in her footsteps are her two daughters who share their mother’s love of dance.

That radiant showmanship dance smile may be gone, but its imprint will never be.

The Rose family made a donation to the Sherwood Dance Academy scholarship fund to ensure other children get the opportunity to have their lives enriched by dance.

Live, Love, Dance.

At Sherwood Dance Academy, we believe that anyone who wants to dance, should be able to dance. Finances should never be the reason to keep a student from attending SDA. With the help of the Rose family and the generous donations from SDA families at our Annual Winter Showcases, we’ve been able to continue the scholarship fund year after year.

“A fantastic place in which all the instructors, including the owner, truly have a passion for dance, and also ensuring everyone has the opportunity to do so. Could not imagine a better dance school..”
