Jeneva Watson Rose

March 10, 2016)
Jeneva Rose had a brilliant smile, a love of dance, and a way of leaving an impression on the people around her. After a long and courageous battle with brain cancer, Jeneva passed away in March 2016. Her radiant spirit and love of dance are still remembered by the many people whose lives she touched.
Dance was part of Jeneva's story from an early age. She went on to lead the Sprague High School dance team in statewide competitions and later danced as a member of the University of Oregon dance team. She returned to share that love of dance as a coach at both Sprague High School and Sherwood High School.
Jeneva also danced at Sherwood Dance Academy for fun for as long as she could. Dance was something she shared with her family, from countless nights country western dancing with her husband, Jim, to passing that love along to her two daughters.
Her radiant dance smile may be gone, but its imprint will never be.
In Jeneva's memory, the Rose family made a generous donation to the Sherwood Dance Academy scholarship fund with a simple hope: that other children would have the opportunity to experience the joy and enrichment that dance brought to Jeneva's life.
That gift became the Rose Scholarship Fund, which continues to help make dance possible for SDA students today.

At Sherwood Dance Academy, we believe a family's financial circumstances shouldn't stand between a child and the opportunity to dance.
Through the generosity of the Rose family and continued donations from our SDA community, Jeneva's love of dance continues to open the studio doors for other children year after year.
Scholarship Assistance
The Rose Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to help make dance accessible when cost may otherwise prevent a student from participating. Priority is given to current SDA families experiencing financial hardship.
