Spring Fundraiser
Every Spring, Sherwood Dance Academy hosts a fundraiser to support a local family or organization—because caring for our community has always been one of our core values. Our Sherwood community shows up for one another, and this event is one way we live that out.
This year, we’re honored to support Family Promise of Tualatin Valley (FPTV), a nonprofit helping families facing homelessness with rent assistance, shelter, meals, and career support—keeping families together, children in their schools, and pets with the people who love them.
We are looking for Silent Auction items for this event. Do you have a business that could donate an item, certificate, or service to add to the auction? Email hello@sherwooddance.com to help! We can also give you a poster of the event if you have a community location to help us advertise the show.
Join us Saturday, April 4th at 6:00pm for our fundraiser and silent auction, with pre-show musical entertainment beginning at 5:30pm. The evening will feature performances by local artists and students - $8/youth, $10/adult.
Clothing Drive
We are collecting clothing donations for FPTV March 16th–21st and March 30th–April 3rd. Their greatest need is children’s clothing—especially new socks and underwear, and stretchy items that can fit a variety of sizes. Donation boxes will be located in the studio hallway during both weeks. Thank you for helping us support local families and keep children clothed with dignity and care.
Raising Awareness
Our mission at SDA is Empowering Students and Community Through Dance and this month our focus is on Raising Awareness! A strong community has people, places, and activities that help us learn, grow, and feel supported. Raising awareness means noticing what’s around us and helping others know about it too. When we share and include others, no one feels alone—and our community grows stronger.
Watch for our Raising Awareness worksheet this month. Have your dancer complete the worksheet and bring it to the office for a chance to pick a prize out of our treasure box!
Throwback Week: 16th-21st
Wear your favorite style of apparel from any previous decade! Just make sure your clothing is still dance class appropriate. I personally hope to see a lot of leg warmers and headbands :)
Lost & Found Donated & Closed Spring Break: 23th-28th
Our Lost & Found collection in the hallway is starting to look like its own little boutique 😄 Take a quick peek before Spring Break and rescue any jackets, shoes, or water bottles that may have “mysteriously wandered off.” Anything left behind will be donated! The Studio is closed for Spring Break.
